I finally finished a set of ballet costumes for my sister's ballet school recital.
For something that is essentially just a leotard with a full circle skirt attached, this project took me a stupid amount of time to finish.
The leotard is a combo of nylon lycra and stretch velvet. The sleeves and lower layer of skirt are chiffon and the top layer is a thin 'fairy floss' nylon chiffon... the same stuff they use for petty skirts.
I must say I do quite like them! I think the colours will do well on stage.. I always liked the peasant style classical costumes. All very 'Act One' LOL
I've taken heaps of photos while I was making them so I will get round to doing a tutorial at some stage.
Right now I'm off to celebrate my son's 5th birthday.. :-)
